Data Quality Developer   

 

The CDO is currently seeking a Data Quality Developer based out of our Monterrey, MX office.

The CDO is the center of gravity for Fitch’s data transformation, aiming to deliver modern, scalable and trusted data solutions that make innovating and working smarter at Fitch easy.  The Data Quality team is responsible for defining and implementing data quality standards across the enterprise such that Fitch’s data is complete, accurate, valid and generally fit for purpose.

We’ll Count on You To:

Key Responsibilities include

  • Translate business and functional requirements into robust data profiling and quality rules.
  • Develop and maintain data quality rules within a DQ tool.
  • Develop basic reporting structures and visualization capabilities.
  • Work with data owners and stewards to identify data quality needs.
  • Impact change to enterprise data by upholding the data issues management process.
  • Assist in the design and development of database structures. 
  • Identifies and maintains a list of key performance and risk indicators to drive continuous quality improvement and operational excellence.

 

What You Need to Have:

The role requires the following experience:

 

  • 2-4 years’ work experience in a data quality, data governance and/ or enterprise risk management role working with different parts of the organization
  • An emphasis on developing and implementing data quality rules and procedures.
  • Experience utilizing an enterprise data quality tool (e.g. Soda DQ, Informatica, etc.) for the creation/development of data quality rules and processes.
  • Experience writing SQL and database design.
  • Working knowledge of AWS (Redshift).

 

What Would Make You Stand Out:

In addition, the following skill sets are desirable for this role:

  • 2 years experience in the financial services industry (Ratings sub-industry a plus but not mandatory).
  • Working knowledge of BI Tools (Qlik, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Strong process analysis, development, planning, tracking and presentation skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Attention to detail, sense of urgency, and commitment to deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, quantify and effectively raise business risks associated with data quality or non-compliance.
  • The ability to split time between multiple projects and shift priorities as needed.
