The role

 

We have an incredible opportunity for a  Data Architect to influence the future of data management and data analytics at Allianz.  We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is looking to take our data capabilities to the next level. 

 

At Allianz there is a growing focus on data and data-driven decision-making.  To enable this we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to design and govern end to end data solutions that support our organisation’s needs.  

 

The successful candidate will work closely with our business, Allianz Group and other data teams and you will be part of the Data Architecture team based at our Head Office in Guildford. Allianz offers a hybrid working model, which means you will have the flexibility to work both remotely and from the office. 

 

As a Data Architect, you will be: 

 

• Helping ensure Allianz achieve sustained competitive advantage from managing and  leveraging its data assets 
• Creating  the Allianz UK Data Architecture Strategic Blueprint and Roadmap 
• Developing an architecture and capability led approach that maximises “Big Data” and “Analytics” opportunities 
• Shaping the Information Architecture requirements for large complex programmes 
• Creating re-usable enterprise architecture assets and models 
• Acting as evangelist and mentor to grow data architecture competencies and best practices  
• Help establish Data Governance best practices 
• Championing the role of data architecture  through collaboration with key business and IT stakeholders 
• Work with agile and analytics data teams  to design and implement modern, scalable data products using a range of new and emerging technologies 
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert to Allianz for end-to-end data architecture  
• Use your good communication skills to understand and deliver change/BAU requirements 
• Bring your experience and ideas to innovate  
• Contribute to our internal networks and special interest groups. 

 

About you

 

We are looking for experience in the following areas but not expecting all of it as we are looking for the right person who is adaptable and willing to learn new things and respond to emerging needs.   

 

Data Modelling: 

Design data models that organise and structure data to facilitate data harmonisation across multiple lines of business 

 

Data Architecture:  

Ensure data from various sources is integrated seamlessly into our data architecture and data is consistent and accurate across systems 

Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data is managed ethically, securely and in compliance with Regulatory requirements 

 

Data Platforms: SAS, Oracle, Cloud: 

Provide technical leadership to data engineering teams 

 

Collaboration:  

Work cross functional teams to ensure that data systems are aligned with business objective 

 

Career Development: 

Stay current with new technologies, tools, and trends in the field of data architecture, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improve data systems.
