Brief Role Description
As part of Volkswagen Group Innovation, our team deals with AI & Data Analytics tasks in the development of digital services for different Volkswagen Group brands. This includes topics such as processing and analyzing vehicle data as well as integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into digitized vehicles. The main topic for this role is the image processing for Autonomous Driving based on multi-modal input data, e.g., image data, LiDAR data etc. With the help of AI, perception and scene understanding tasks of Autonomous Driving are solved. Within these fields of innovation, we offer you the possibility to participate in the research and development of intelligent algorithms in an interdisciplinary team and to help shape the mobility of tomorrow.
Possible Tasks within this Role
- Focus on the development and implementation of Deep Learning architectures for the perception in Autonomous Driving topics
- To gain experience as a Deep Learning researcher/scientist and at the same time to work on highly relevant topics in the automotive industry
- If you are aiming for a master's thesis, the task and the research questions will be determined together with the professor after confirmation of supervision
Qualification requirements
- Students of computer science, engineering, mathematics or comparable disciplines
- Very good to good academic performance
- Good programming skills in Python and in Deep Learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch or TensorFlow)
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Practical experience in the development of algorithms
- Theoretical understanding and practical experience in the field of Deep Learning (esp. computer vision) is an advantage
- Ability to work in a team and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently on a scientific topic
- German and/or English Level C1
