BI Data Analyst

About the Role:

The purpose of the role is to analyse business requirements and define, develop and own the delivery of reporting solution for various IT projects and business change programmes with usability and user experience in mind.

Having a wide understanding of data modelling, data engineering and databases, with expertise in delivering data for deploying in reports and dashboards. Familiarity of emerging tools such as SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI & Tableau.

Familiar with requirements management and testing methodologies.

Core application focus areas: SAC, Power BI, Snowflake, Alteryx

Key Responsibilities:

1. Requirement gathering to define business functional requirements and report layouts.
2. Develop wireframes and task flows based on user needs
3. Own the creation of requirements and design document for assigned projects.
4. Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers and find creative ways to solve UX problems 
5. Work & collaborate with other technical developers and solution providers to ensure data is provided efficiently to support intuitive, user-friendly reports and dashboards
6. Engage in usability testing, gather feedback and implement strategies and practices to promote user adoption.
7. Assist the unit test of solutions & provide support and expertise through Systems Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Test (UAT).

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

1. Experience in analysis of business functional requirements within major change programmes and projects involving data and analytics.
2. Experience with data modelling and data engineering.
3. Experience in working in large teams inhouse and 3rd parties to deliver solutions (from requirements management through to delivery.)
4. Experience of delivering user friendly designs and solutions using BI tools e.g. Power BI, SAC
5. Problem-solving aptitude and willingness to try and learn emerging technologies in Data Analytics space

Qualifications:

1. Degree or equivalent in computer science
