This Data Scientist role in the Digital Product team provides an opportunity to contribute to methodological innovation in the exciting and fast-changing world of digital media measurement. This is an ideal position to grow as a researcher and engineer, contribute to innovative methodologies capable of scaling across Nielsen’s data assets, and develop subject-matter expertise in digital methodology and cross-platform audience measurement.

Job Responsibilities
- This is a challenging and exciting role that offers exposure to a wide assortment of Nielsen data assets. In this role, you will work directly with cross-functional internal teams to optimize data systems and build them from the ground up. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of combining Nielsen’s proprietary data assets with their statistical modeling and software development skills to enable the world’s biggest brands to make better and faster decisions. Your responsibilities will include
- Work alongside scientists and engineers as the subject matter expert for building machine learning pipelines in our cloud environment.
- Driving technical solutions to complex business problems, from lightweight automation to designing and building robust machine learning solutions.
- Develop, implement and maintain good programming standards and practices across our analytics codebase.
- Independently writing custom Python and SQL code.
- Providing research support that leads to the enhancement of existing methodologies or the creation of new methodologies.
- Collaborating with Application Development and Technology teams to integrate and test new modules in production pipelines
Requirements
- E- Experience in pipeline management (building/debugging/optimizing), software development, and data analysis
- E- High fluency in Python and SQLE-
- Experience with machine learning techniques and data pipeline/workflow management tools: Airflow, Luigi, etc.
- E- Ability to communicate complex results and findings in a clear and concise manner to a wide range of business audiences, both technical and non-technical.
- E - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or other fields with a strong quantitative programming and analytical background
