We're looking for an outstanding Data Science Intern. This position assists in conducting advanced data analyses and producing industry insights that support the Pattern marketing team — including analysis of large data sets to discover interesting correlations and develop data visualizations which tell a story.

What is a day in the life of a Data Science Intern?

The core duties of a Data Science intern reflect the following:

• Passion for data and an understanding of basic data manipulation and statistics
• Work with business stakeholders to identify, scope, and build analytical models and programs
• Advanced data wrangling, which involves collating, cleaning, and manipulating very large datasets
• Basic data engineering, involving developing simple ETL jobs

What will I need to thrive in this role?

• Experience with SQL, R, or Python
• Working toward a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Economics, or similar quantitative field
• Experience with machine learning, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and time series analysis
• Experience or the ability to quickly learn Tableau
• Strong data discovery, visualization, and analysis skills
• Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• High ethical standards, self-driven, organized, and proactive mindset

What is the team like?

You will work with the other full-time Data Scientist as well as be supervised by the Head of Data Science. You will also be mentored by the Head of Data Science and meet with them on a regular basis to discuss your performance. This team is data driven and results oriented. You will collaborate regularly with members of your team to implement actionable solutions. Ideas and input are encouraged from all members.
