Data Analyst/ Engineer

We are the Global Patient Safety Team based in Bengaluru (LCCI). Our mission is to leverage advanced analytics and data engineer to inform decision-making, enhance patient safety, and maximize healthcare outcomes through the power of data. In short, we harness data to address high-impact healthcare challenges!

Path/Level: P1

Note:  Roles are posted at the lowest level of a band, however, employees should search across all levels of the band to identify all opportunities.  Employees hired on banded positions (ex: P1-P3, R1-R2, B1-B3, etc.) transfer at their current level, despite the level indicated on the job posting.  For example, if a P2 candidate is selected for a P1-P3 banded position, the candidate will remain a P2 in the new role.

Key capabilities in this role family include:

  • Data Pipeline Design and Management: Developing and maintaining scalable and reliable data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow and integration across systems.
  • Programming Proficiency: Writing efficient and scalable code in languages like Python, and SQL to manage and manipulate data.
  • Cloud Platform Expertise: Leveraging cloud services (AWS, Azure) to build and maintain data infrastructure.
  • Data Exploration and Visualization: Conducting thorough data exploration and creating visualizations using BI tools like Tableau, Power BI and PowerApps
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Working with various teams to address business challenges and provide data-driven solutions.
  • Insight Communication: Effectively communicating findings and recommendations to stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.
  • Continuous Learning: Staying updated with the latest advancements in data technologies and methodologies to enhance analytical capabilities.

Note: All data engineer and data analyst roles should have a foundational set of knowledge in:  communication, leadership, teamwork, problem solving skills, solution / blueprint definition, business acumen, architectural processes (e.g. blueprinting, reference architecture, governance, etc.), technical standards, project delivery, and industry knowledge.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with business partners to identify issues and use data for effective decision making.
  • Scope key business challenges, identify the right data, and provide direction to business stakeholders.
  • Engage in solution visioning, apply improvements, and provide technical support.
  • Network with colleagues to determine solutions that meet business partners’ needs.
  • Design and develop end-to-end solutions in efficient and user-friendly technologies for business.
  • Perform data manipulation activities to remove data corruption/gaps and filter data required for functional use cases.
  • Use statistical tools to identify, analyse, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets for diagnosis and prediction.
  • Prepare reports for stakeholders, highlighting trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
  • Hands-on development work on all aspects of data analysis, data provisioning, data modelling, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Demonstrate expertise in designing and evaluating data models.
  • Drive innovation by creating new frameworks, standards, prototypes, and automation projects.
  • Exhibit creativity in building multiple digital solutions.
  • Show working knowledge of advanced SQL and Python.
  • Adapt quickly in a constantly changing environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, data provisioning, data modelling, and solution development.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with business partners to identify issues and use data for effective decision making.
  • Advanced working knowledge of SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Proficient in preparing comprehensive reports using Power BI and Tableau highlighting trends, patterns, and predictions for stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Cloud (AWS, Lambda, EC2, SageMaker) based data solutions and tools
  • Expertise in designing and evaluating complex data models.
  • Experience with data cleansing, data manipulation, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with developing end-to-end solutions using modern technologies and frameworks.
  • Ability to drive innovation by creating new frameworks, standards, prototypes, and automation projects.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and business partners.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and problem-solving skills in dynamic settings.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive attitude towards continuous learning and professional development.

Desired Technical Skills:

  • Python: Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, analysis, and automation.
  • SQL: Advanced skills in SQL for database querying and data manipulation.
  • Power BI: Experience in creating interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Tableau: Proficiency in developing and maintaining visualizations.
  • AWS: Hands-on experience with AWS services, including Lambda, EC2, S3, and other relevant services.
  • Cloud Templates: Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Github: Experience in using GitHub for version control and collaboration.
  • Jira: Familiarity with Jira for project tracking and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, integration, and deployment of data solutions (using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline).
