At Prima we are revolutionizing the insurance world, and we are doing so from two fundamental pillars: data and the technology to harness it.
The speed and dynamism of the industry in which we operate requires us to continually make real-time decisions, such as pricing coverage for a specific user or the need for a fraud check for a reported claim. Almost all of these decisions are made automatically by dynamic systems and artificial intelligence engines that estimate the probability of future events and define the best possible action for Prima and its customers.
We are evaluating profiles of varying seniority and responsibility to be placed as a Senior or Lead Data Scientist: in this role, you will then aim to teach our platform to make the best decisions in a variety of different contexts and, in general, to extract as much value as possible from our data assets. Your work will directly impact the growth and sustainability of our company, contributing firsthand to the achievement of our strategic goals.
You will also contribute to the success and growth of Prima and the team by making strategic, actuarial, architectural and technology decisions, coordinating junior Data Scientists, participating in recruiting, and defining strategic goals and new initiatives.
At Prima you will work on these issues:
- Evolving the pricing engine, through the creation of new variables and improving models and predictive technology
- Measuring the impact of implemented projects and estimating that of future initiatives, identifying early where the greatest value lies
- Monitor KPI trends, identifying problems and areas for improvement
- Streamline internal procedures with systems for automated customer screening, document classification and fraud detection
- Optimize customer interactions by setting dynamic rules on the website and on the various touch points between Prima and its audience.
Specifically, you will be responsible for these activities:
- Quickly understand the Prima universe, so you can effectively apply your prior experience to our challenges
- Having total operational autonomy, being able to get the job done by taking full advantage of all Prima's resources and colleagues
- Set up your work and that of less experienced Data Scientists, structuring problems and planning activities to solve them
- Deliver accurate, multi-checked, error-free outputs with full ownership of the result
- Develop over time a strong critical spirit and thriving creativity that can serve as an engine for Prima's future growth
- Have total autonomy in generating and evaluating new ideas of a technical and product nature, thus defining the team's future goals
- Contribute to the growth of the team, such as through the recruiting process or by providing feedback to colleagues
