We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of Quantum Computing. Within the Innovation, Emerging Technologies sector, we drive the digitalization of the BMW Group across all areas, from development, production, sales to financial services. Together with our Technology Office locations in the USA, China, and Singapore, we successfully implement new technologies such as Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Worlds, making a significant contribution to the future of the BMW Group.

 

What awaits you?

  • Deep Dive into Quantum Computing: During your internship, you will delve deep into the world of Quantum Computing, exploring innovative approaches for the virtual development process such as generative design and simulation.
  • Collaboration with Technical Departments: You will gain insights into BMWrelevant use cases in close cooperation with our technical departments. You will apply methods from fault-tolerant Quantum Computing or Quantum-based machine learning to these use cases and present your results both internally and externally.
  • Multicultural Team: Be a part of a highly qualified, multicultural team.
  • State-of-the-Art Methodologies: Learn and practically apply state-of-the-art methodologies in Quantum Computing and Benchmarking.
  • Mathematical Formulations: Develop mathematical formulations of BMW use cases, create solution methods, and evaluate the applied methods.
  • Regular Coordination: Regularly coordinate with internal and external stakeholders from the production environment, development, and IT departments.
  • Scientific Publications: Potentially publish your results in scientific journals and present them at conferences.


What should you bring along? 

  • Academic Background: Studying Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable course of study.
  • Quantum Computing Expertise: Very good knowledge in the field of Quantum Computing.
  • Simulation and Scientific Computing: Good knowledge in simulation and scientific computing.
  • Programming Skills: Very good knowledge and experience in programming with Python or C++.
  • Cooperative Development Tools: Good knowledge of cooperative development tools such as GitHub.
  • Language Skills: Very good English skills, German is an advantage.
