Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Australia is on the lookout for a Software Application Developer to support the Australian region. Specifically, the Information Technology and Data Analytics (IT&DA) organisation that supports Boeing businesses in Australia and associated enterprise functions: Commercial and Government Aftermarket Services; Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, Supply Chain, HR, Finance, and Corporate functions.

At Boeing, we are already making a difference across the industry using data analytics to deliver strong, rich, and safer product experience to our commercial and government customers. We are expanding and growing in all areas in the frontier of the aerospace industry. We are working on projects that utilize the latest techniques in Machine Learning (including Deep Learning, Neural network), Natural Language Processing, and deep infrastructure.

This role will have opportunities to work on projects with highest priority to the business. Paramount to success in this role is the ability to develop & deploy and maintain software programs, web applications, and off-the-shelf computing applications.

The full-time permanent role will be based in Port Melbourne with the ability for hybrid working arrangements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports software requirements development by performing sensitivity analyses, preparing flow and logic diagrams, and performing trade studies.Ā 
  • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.Ā 
  • Writes and compiles routine code and constructs routine database objects based on documented design.Ā 
  • Modifies or upgrades applications to maintain software functionality.
  • Performs troubleshooting of operational and integration issues.
  • Maintains and analyzes performance data.
  • Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
  • Assists with the development, documentation, and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems.
  • Assists in the creation of estimates, plans, schedules, and corrective action.Ā 
  • Supports software project management and software supplier management functions.Ā 
  • Develops relationships and provides advice within cross-functional teams.
  • Develops architecture to address InfoSec and functional imperatives.
  • Assists with the installation and configuration of new hardware and software to support factory systems.
  • Develops new strategies and IT procedures to increase efficiency, enhance workflow and improve end-user satisfaction.
  • Fulfills Enterprise compliance obligations.

Education

Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree in a computer, mechatronics, engineering or quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, data science, artificial intelligence, computer science, mathematics) desirable.

What you might bring

  • Experience with programming languages & database tools; Python, C#, web technologies, SQL, PL/SQL.
  • Preferred experience in DevOps & cloud-native technologies; Containerization, CI/CD, microservices.
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in software & web development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical.
  • Must possess skills necessary to diagnose and isolate problems.
  • Experience with integrating applications with hardware components.

Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements with ability to obtain Baseline clearance.
