As a Strategic Insights Manager at Qantas Loyalty, you will be a key player in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive customer engagement and profitability across our Financial Services portfolio. Based on these insights and in collaboration with Qantas Loyalty stakeholders, this role is responsible for the identification of opportunities to increase customer engagement and profitability via improvements to the Qantas frequent flyer program. 

 

This role will work closely with Senior Qantas Loyalty management and the Senior Manager of Strategic Insights to form recommendations on key strategic issues relating to Financial Services and other group-wide initiatives that impact Qantas Frequent Flyer members. You'll leverage your expertise in customer analytics, segmentation, retention and marketing analytics to uncover opportunities for program enhancements and strategic decision-making. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Utilize analytics and modelling techniques to understand customer behaviours and identify trends within Qantas Loyalty's Financial Services. 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate insights into practical recommendations that increase customer engagement, retention, and lifetime value.

  • Partner with senior management to provide data-driven guidance on financial services strategies and group-wide initiatives impacting Qantas Frequent Flyer members. 

  • Oversee a variety of projects involving strategic customer segmentation, retention analysis, pricing analytics, cohort analysis, and marketing analytics. 

  • Present findings and recommendations clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership. 

You’ll have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in applied statistics, mathematics, economics, or a related analytical field. 

  • Proven experience in customer analytics, segmentation, retention, and marketing analytics. 

  • Demonstrated success in turning data into actionable insights and recommendations. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset. 

  • Extensive experience extracting and manipulating data using SQL (Teradata experience preferred). 

  • Experience in creating dashboards using Tableau preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. 

  • Experience with Python desirable. 

  • Background in financial services. 

  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
