About the work environment:
Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.
We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.
About you:
You bring strong statistical knowledge, storytelling capabilities, and solid experience in a consumer credit risk environment. You have a proven track record of working with stakeholders from across the organization to drive analytically based approaches. If you have a background in accounting or finance, that would be nice to have. You are passionate about using analytics to enhance Peoples Group's ability to enhance its Consumer Credit Risk capabilities.
About the qualifications:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in consumer lending analytical role.
- Bachelor’s degree in analytics, business intelligence, data science, economics, engineering, or statistics.
- Accounting or finance background is nice to have.
- Ability to gather and visualize data, using Excel and Power BI and share insights through storytelling.
- Experience building predictive models.
- Experience working in cloud platforms (preferably AWS), Python or R is beneficial.
- Ability to distill and communicate complex analytical recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
About the day-to-day:
- Provide ongoing and ad-hoc analysis and insights on the consumer credit portfolio.
- Develop credit and fraud loss forecasts, including research, insights, model updates, and recommendations.
- Manage credit risk reporting deliverables to be completed on time.
- Monitor current loss forecasting models and identify and act on improvement opportunities.
- Develop relationships with stakeholders to provide meaningful insights.
- Lead the implementation, updating and monitoring of all compliance processes, as it relates to loss forecasting and reporting.
- Complete credit risk and modelling market research, requirement definition, and model concept development.
Compensation:
Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $85,000 and $90,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possess. As part of our recruiting process, shortlisted candidates will be asked their salary expectations for this position.
