The Analytics & Quantitative Solutions (AQS) team within the Aladdin Business is responsible for delivering high-impact solutions to our clients’ most complex investment, risk and business challenges, as well as expanding and enhancing Aladdin’s analytics capabilities through research and innovation, leveraging the collective intelligence of the Aladdin client community. Each team member is tasked with understanding market and investment practice trends along with client needs, and proactively offering new and comprehensive solutions leveraging Aladdin analytics and data.

AQS is actively seeking a New York-based Associate to work with a diverse group of analytics experts to enhance Aladdin’s analytics platform. They will collaborate with external business leaders to develop impactful solutions for Aladdin clients, which may extend across regions and industries. The person will also work with colleagues from the Aladdin Client Business, Financial Engineering, and Product teams to evolve Aladdin’s analytics capabilities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Use Aladdin’s capabilities to develop custom, fit-for-purpose solutions for clients and prospective clients
  • Drive analytics and modeling improvements for Aladdin Studio based on client feedback and broader trends in the financial technology industry
  • Create proactive solutions to new and emerging challenges using Aladdin’s APIs, Data Cloud, and Compute platform.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise and thought leadership to drive client engagement and provide support during pre-sales and implementation processes
  • Participate in firm-wide initiatives to enhance Aladdin analytics and strategic partner relationships
  • Coordinate to resolve analytics-related issues and ensure successful deployments of new analytics features
  • Provide guidance on sophisticated/complex analytics inquiries from clients and partners across the client business, including Client Services and Analytics Production teams
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering teams to develop products: articulate client needs; develop business requirements; support product design; develop examples / test cases; and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Partner with Client Engagement, Business Development, and Product Marketing teams to promote solutions and educate clients: deliver demos to existing clients and new prospects; develop thought leadership; and address client needs/questions

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a quantitative role, preferably at a financial services or financial technology company
  • Academic degree in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with at least one scripting language (preferably Python or R)
  • Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience with portfolio management software such as Aladdin
  • Superior communication and presentation skills
  • Interest in financial markets and ability to understand the impact of market events through a client lens (direct client experience is a plus)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization and ability to manage multiple concurrent streams of work


 

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
