Job Description

Job Summary (General Responsibilities):

We are looking for an experienced and talented data scientist to join Belkin’s e-commerce team, where you will analyze structured, semi-structured and unstructured big data sources to generate actionable insights for various strategic projects and marketing initiatives.

Your role will be to develop relevant algorithms and models (e.g. product recommendation systems, customer segmentation models, customer churn models etc.) using a range of statistical modeling and machine learning techniques (e.g. logistic regression, decision trees, clustering etc.).

You will also lead the measurement and evaluation of our marketing efforts, with the goal of optimizing campaign performance across agile sprint cycles. Your work will empower Belkin’s e-commerce team to adopt a continuous test-and-learn approach, ensuring resources and efforts are laser-focused on the highest value initiatives.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Develop algorithms to analyze complex datasets and identify meaningful business insights that will drive strategic recommendations.

  • Build AI/machine learning models to predict consumer behavior and business outcomes.

  • Provide end-to-end campaign support, such as pre-campaign measurement plan development, in-campaign optimization recommendations, and post-campaign performance insights.

  • Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders, through data visualizations and dashboards.

  • Identify opportunities to improve agile performance; remove team-level roadblocks and resolve conflicts; anticipate challenges and risks, and recommend mitigations and solutions.

  • Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, guiding their work and ensuring high-quality data analysis and insights

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math or Statistics.

  • 5-8 years of experience designing and implementing data science models, with the ability to perform data extraction, data cleaning, statistical modeling and data visualization.

  • Strong skills in statistical methodologies such as A/B testing, experimental design, hypothesis testing and data mining.

  • Proficiency with business intelligence tools for data visualization (e.g. Tableau, Power BI).

  • Skilled in using R, Python, SAS for performing exploratory data analysis.

  • Experience with common data science libraries in Python (NumPy, SciPy, SciKit-Learn etc.) a plus.

Location:

El Segundo, California

Range for this position:

$105,000 - $150,000

Factors such as geographic location, academic credentials, relevant experience, and specific knowledge, skills and abilities will influence the actual salary offered. In addition to a competitive market-based salary, compensation also includes a performance-based bonus, and in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
