NLP - Natural Language Processing Engineer (H/F)

With more than 50 years of experience in translation technologies, SYSTRAN has pioneered the greatest innovations in the field, including the first web-based translation portals and the first neural translation engines combining artificial intelligence and neural networks for businesses and public organizations.

SYSTRAN is looking for a Natural Language Processing (NLP) Engineer - of Scandinavian-speaking (native speaker of Danish, Islandic, Norwegian or Swedish) or a native Dutch-speaking - to join the Linguistic Development team.

Your main missions are :

• Assist in creating and enhancing neuronal translation models

• Assess the translation quality of models via human evaluation and automatic tools; analyse issues and detect avenues for improvement
• Collect, clean and annotate training corpora for the neuronal models
• Develop linguistic resources (rules, dictionaries, corpora annotation) for your work language(s)

Requirements

• Master’s degree (MS) in Computational Linguistics or related discipline with a specialty in: Natural Language Processing, Machine Translation, Computational Linguistics
• Proficiency in programming languages for processing textual data (Python, Perl, gawk, etc.) and Unix/Linux environments
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Strong collaborative skills
• Ability to tackle complex issues and ability to quickly learn new technical concepts and internal tools

• Native Dutch speaker with English and/or French as a second language
• OR Native speaker of Danish, Icelandic, Norwegian or Swedish with English and/or French as a second language
