Data Analytics Specialist (Compliance)

The Data Analysis Officer in the Compliance Department will be primarily responsible for exporting, validating, and analyzing data related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) systems. The role involves working closely with competent authorities, responding to Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) requests, fulfilling compliance manager requests, and generating regular reports to identify and investigate abnormal behaviors. Proficiency in SQL and Excel is crucial for this role.

1.      AML System Validation:

• Export reports from AML systems and conduct thorough validation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze data to detect any suspicious or irregular activities that may indicate potential money laundering.

2.      Compliance Reporting:

• Export data in response to requests from competent authorities and the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Fulfill data export requirements as per instructions received from the Compliance Manager.

3.      Abnormal Behavior Analysis:

• Generate and export regular reports to identify abnormal behaviors within the data.
• Work under the direct supervision of the supervisor to investigate any anomalies and report findings.

4.      Technical Proficiency:

• Possess a high level of proficiency in SQL and Excel to manipulate, analyze, and extract data efficiently.
• Utilize SQL queries to extract and analyze data effectively for reporting purposes.

5.      Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including compliance teams, IT departments, and other relevant units, to ensure data accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to address data-related inquiries and provide necessary support.

Requirements

•  Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field.
• Proven experience (2 years) in data analysis, preferably in a compliance-related environment.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel is essential for data manipulation, querying, and reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify anomalies.
• Understanding of AML and compliance standards is highly desirable.
