About the Job

The Investment Data Team is a newly established operational capability within Rest’s Investments Services and Transformation organisation.  Investment Data supports all components of the data, reporting and analytical needs for our growing Investment business.  

As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for daily monitoring and data quality checks across the data ingestion and mastering processes to ensure that data is accurate, timely and usable by our Investments team each day.

As a Data Analyst you will support the team by maintaining and validating Investment data, overseeing Investment databases and systems, and assisting in ensuring that data sets are sourced, governed, mapped, ingested and transformed to feed the reports and dashboards utilised by the Investments team.

The Data Analyst will ensure accurate information is stored and reported, maintaining automated reconciliation and validations in REST's systems, monitoring for discrepancies, and investigating causes to ensure data sets are complete and accurate for use in reporting, analytics and dashboards.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Data mapping, definitions and procedure documentation
  • Metadata management (catalogue, lineage)
  • Data process compliance and risk assurance
  • Data quality check execution, investigation and resolution
  • Data retention, audit and regulatory compliance
  • Follow best practice business process optimisation for the Data and Analytics operations, utilising technology and analytical tools.

About You:

Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary degree and/or diploma

Required experience, understanding or credentials including:

  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis in a data management or investment analytics function.
  • Experience with data platform environments (AWS, Snowflake, Azure) and data integration technologies.
  • Exposure to BI and analysis technologies, PowerBI/Tableau, Python, R, Excel.
  • Proficiency in SQL programming.
  • Able to engage meaningfully with key stakeholders in the Front Office & Investment Analytics teams.
