Data Governance
The Governance team partners with the Product Management and Data Tech Engineering functions of the Disney Entertainment organization as well as with legal, privacy, information security, other business units within The Walt Disney Company, and industry groups to ensure consistent, trustworthy data. The group creates strategies and develops solutions designed to ensure data that is trustworthy, secure, and follows internal and legal standards.
Job Summary
The Data Governance Engineer will be a member of the Data Governance Privacy and Compliance team whose mission is to ensure data throughout the ecosystem is in compliance with privacy and security regulations. This role requires acute attention to detail, a strong sense of accountability, collaboration and understanding of large-scale cloud data platform infrastructure. In this role you will work directly with analytics, data architecture, engineering, legal and security partners to build scalable solutions to solve complex privacy related challenges.
What You Will Do
- Build out privacy solutions to support consumer privacy rights processes owned by Data Governance.
- Monitor existing processes for operational errors and work to resolve issues as they arise.
- Respond to legal inquiries for consumer data.
- Assist in the maintenance of data protection solutions.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of enterprise experience with data and platforms including: Provisioning/Data Capture, Big Data, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.
- Understanding of consent management concepts and tools.
- Experience working with regulatory compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPPA, SOX,etc.).
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and written communication skills.
- Experience and comfort solving problems in an ambiguous environment where there is constant change.
- Ability to think logically, communicate clearly, and be well organized.
- Technologies such as OneTrust, Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Redshift, Airflow, DynamoDB, REDIS, Kubernetes, Kinesis, REST APIs
- SQL, Python, Scala, other computer software languages
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum two years of experience in the technology industry, knowledge of data and product a plus.
- Knowledge of agile SDLC methodologies
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
