Lyft’s Insights & Analytics team is responsible for enabling end-to-end customer-based reporting for Lyft. In addition to monitoring the quality and efficiency of Lyft’s customer experience team, Insights & Analytics also provides data reporting and infrastructure regarding Lyft’s product features, safety offerings, in-app automations, driver applications, and driver onboarding. 


As an analyst on the Insights & Analytics team, you will partner with stakeholders across Support, Product, Compliance, and Finance. You will leverage your data analysis, visualization, system design, and communication skills to deliver targeted reporting, actionable insights, and system improvements to stakeholders who rely on our data. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker and problem solver who can build strong relationships with different teams, and who is relentlessly focused on improving the systems and reporting that help Lyft deliver safe and quality experiences to its customers. 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with teams across Lyft to identify and prioritize improvements to data capture, classification, and reporting 
  • Define and prioritize Lyft’s data needs and partner with internal and external team members to implement new processes 
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) connected to Lyft’s ability to correctly manage, deliver, and track various workflows throughout its Support and Product teams 
  • Synthesize insights from a variety of both quantitative and qualitative data sources to provide a complete, specific, and actionable picture of the factors impacting Lyft’s ability to understand its support and product processes 
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure data and systems decisions are executed with the customer, associate, and business in mind 
  • Drive the design, implementation, and monitoring of new systems and data structures relating to data & reporting. Translate complex business needs into clear data structure requirements - and build out those requirements to enable intuitive data visualization 
  • Build and automate data monitoring capabilities to proactively identify anomalous trends and data quality issues 
  • Resourceful and able to work autonomously and with minimal direct supervision 

Experience:

  • 3+ years of on the job data analysis experience with a proven ability to influence outcomes
  • Strong proficiency in at least one of the SQL languages (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SqlServer, Oracle): able to make sense out of a set of large, raw events tables. 
  • Proven ability to develop technical skillset independently to support business needs 
  • Exceptional communication (listening, written, and oral) skills with the ability to present findings & recommendations targeted to the audience in question 
  • Proven ability to translate unstructured business problems into clearly defined requirements 
  • Demonstrates a process improvement mindset by creating systems, documentation & tools in order to drive long-term positive change 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and trust across functions and work collaboratively 
  • A passion for process improvement and using data to improve the customer experience at Lyft 
  • Ability to communicate in English in various forms e.g technical document, meetings, presentations

Bonus Points: Experience with or motivation to learn a workflow authoring system like Airflow 

Even better: 

  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role or supporting customer-facing teams 
  • Experience using and administering data visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau 
  • Experience building new data tables using ETL logic 
  • Experience transforming data & automating processes using a scripting language like Python
