Job Description SummaryThe Staff Data Scientist will work in teams addressing statistical, machine learning and data understanding problems in a commercial technology and consultancy development environment. In this role, you will contribute to the development and deployment of modern machine learning, operational research, semantic analysis, and statistical methods for finding structure in large data sets.

As a Staff AI Scientist, you will be part of an AI or cross-disciplinary team on commercially-facing research and development projects, typically involving large, complex medical data sets. These teams typically include AI scientists, statisticians, software developers, engineers, product managers, and end users, working in concert with partners in GE HealthCare business units.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Develop AI models that address customer needs and opportunities.

  • Develop research prototypes (with data understanding and appropriate evaluation metrics) under minimal guidance in a team setting

  • Work on data quality assessment, data cleansing and data analytics

  • Work alongside software developers and software engineers to translate algorithms into commercially viable products and services.

  • Generate reports, annotated code, and other projects artifacts to document, archive, and communicate your work and outcomes.

Education Qualifications:

PhD or Masters degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience with a demonstrable track record of expertise in AI topics (Vision, Language, Multi-modality fusion etc.)

One or more scientific publication(s) in conferences, journals, or public repositories.


Technical Expertise:

  • Minimum 4+ years of coding experience.

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

  •  Knowledge of Image processing libraries in Python such as sitk and openCV.

  • Demonstrated awareness of data management methods

  • Demonstrated awareness of AI technology trends (Vision, Language, Multi-modality fusion etc.) applicable to the Healthcare domain
