Job Description

We seek a Middle Data Engineer to join our company remotely. 

This project is divided into four specialized teams, each responsible for a specific aspect of the development and deployment process. Now in the production phase, the project has established robust pipelines for multiple data sources, managing a variety of automated processes. These pipelines are designed to streamline and automate software delivery, ensuring that new features and updates are deployed efficiently, swiftly, and reliably across all environments.

Position Overview:

In this role, you will be a key member of one of the specialized teams, responsible for overseeing the development and deployment processes. Your focus will be on managing and optimizing automated pipelines to ensure the seamless delivery of software updates and new features. You will collaborate with other teams to maintain the efficiency and reliability of the deployment processes across multiple environments.

Responsibilities:   

• Perform all phases of software engineering, including requirements analysis, application design, code development, and testing.
• Design and implement product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
• Focus heavily on automation using the Agile and DevOps model.
• Utilize Continuous Delivery/Continuous Integration systems (CI/CD), such as Jenkins, GitHub, and SonarQube.
• Innovate in solution design and development to meet business needs.
• Use Big Data technologies to enrich and transform data, including Azure Cloud, Databricks, Hive, Sqoop, MapReduce, Spark, Kafka, HBase, Elastic, Cassandra, Oozie, Hadoop, and MapR FS.
• Build microservice-driven products using OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Lead technology decisions, and drive product implementation and delivery.
• Support the implementation and ensure stability in production.
• Provide alternate design solutions along with project estimates.
• Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and performance improvements.
• Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and devise solutions as required.
• Demonstrate substantial depth of knowledge and experience in Big Data and Java development.
• Implement data into the data lake using reusable, configurable frameworks.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers within the organization.

Qualifications

• 5 + years of hands-on experience with Java stack.
• 3 + years of experience with Big Data / Azure Cloud and Hadoop, Databricks Application Development specific skills: Azure Cloud, Databricks, Java, Big Data with Spark and Scala, Apache Kafka.
• Hands-on experience with SQL.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD. 
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field. 
• A passion for engineering and a consistent record of delivering great software.
• Experience in the design, implementation, and deployment of scalable API services.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology. 
• Clear and concise communication, able to articulate clearly.
