This opportunity will provide hands-on experience with cloud data platforms like Snowflake and data transformation tools such as dbt. You will gain exposure to AWS infrastructure, building innovative and efficient data solutions, and working with various data sources, including Oracle, MS SQL Server, and Postgres

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

· Lead the design and development of the organization's data architecture, including data models, schemas, and data flows, using Snowflake as the primary data platform.

· Establish and enforce data architecture standards and best practices, ensuring data consistency, quality, and governance.

· Design and implement data models that are scalable, flexible, and optimized for performance, supporting both operational and analytical needs.

· Architect and oversee the implementation of ETL/ELT processes using Fivetran for data ingestion and dbt for data transformation.

· Define data integration strategies, including the integration of data from various sources, ensuring seamless data flow into Snowflake.

· Develop and maintain data pipelines, ensuring they are robust, efficient, and capable of handling large volumes of data.

· Optimize the performance of data systems, including query optimization, resource management, and data partitioning strategies.

· Utilize Snowflake's advanced features, such as Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning, and Data Sharing, to enhance data management and operational efficiency.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.

· Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams, guiding them in best practices and architectural principles.

· Communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

· Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance the data platform, ensuring it meets current and future business needs.

Education

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Snowflake certification preferred

Experience

· 10+ years experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related field, with a strong focus on data modeling, ETL processes, and cloud-based data platforms.

· Extensive experience with Snowflake, including data warehousing, performance optimization, and leveraging advanced features.

· Proven experience with dbt, including developing and managing data transformation pipelines and models.

· Strong experience with Fivetran or similar data integration tools, including data ingestion, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

· Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable, high-performance data systems and architectures.

· Working experience with version control platforms, e.g. Git, and agile methodologies and supporting tools (e.g. Jira)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities · Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing principles.

· Proficient in designing scalable and maintainable data architectures. In-depth experience with Snowflake cloud data platform, including data security, access controls, data sharing, and performance optimization.

· Proven track record of implementing and managing Snowflake solutions in a production environment.

· Strong proficiency in using Fivetran for automated data integration and pipeline management.

· Ability to set up, monitor, and maintain data connectors from various sources.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary workstation
• Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 10 Lbs.
