POSITION SUMMARY

This role is responsible for assisting in the evaluation and pricing of reinsurance opportunities for the Zurich platform, and enhancing assumption sets across its relevant territories.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABLITIES:

  • Contribute to the development of the Zurich platform’s portfolio across all major lines of business.
  • Assist in evaluating risk over a broad range of deals, ensuring consistency with the global pricing team’s pricing methodologies.
  • Liaise with clients and brokers to ensure the provision of appropriate information for assessing risk.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of RenaissanceRe’s proprietary modelling and continuing development of its pricing platform.
  • Track industry trends, engage with data aggregators, and generally enhance the group’s knowledge of market characteristics, utilizing relevant proprietary and publicly available data.

EXPECTED COMPETANCIES:

  • A university degree with emphasis on mathematics, statistics, economics, finance or a similar scientific field.
  • Advanced progression towards ACAS, FCAS, SAV, FIA or similar.
  • 5+ years of experience in the (re)insurance industry.
  • Prior experience in pricing reinsurance treaties, including the common forms of reinsurance relevant to the major insurance classes.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including knowledge of concepts such as distribution extrapolation, curve fitting, and portfolio optimization.
  • Ability to effectively verbally communicate analytical findings to a broad audience, including senior actuaries, underwriters, and senior management.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Programming knowledge (Python, SQL) an advantage.
  • Fluent in English, with French, German, and other languages an advantage.
