Location

Fountain Valley, CA

Purpose

  • Responsible for identifying and reporting safety, compliance, and regulatory concerns on Hyundai and Genesis models.
  • Responsible for reviewing and creating escalation material for committee review.
  • Work closely with Engineers from the Safety Emerging Issues and Vehicle Safety Investigation team to assist in emerging issue detection and analysis.
  • Review all assigned Alerts within the analytics application and provide disposition.

Major Responsibilities

  • Identify possible safety-related defects associated with Hyundai production vehicles through examination of consumer complaint data, field reports, legal cases, supplier information; dealer reports, plant information, other safety recalls, compliance and consumer metric testing,
  • Conduct timely, data-driven investigations of possible issues that have been identified.
  • Determine preliminary severity, occurrence, and detectability scores using established metrics and standard operating procedures.
  • Actively track and manage assigned cases/alerts to ensure KPI’s are within requirements (including handle time, response time, and reporting deadlines).
  • Summarize for management review that clearly defines the issue(s) and the parameters outlined above.
  • Provide immediate notification to upper management of potential catastrophic defects

Major Responsibilities (continued)

  • This position will have access to Hyundai expertise needed to complete investigations with review by managers and senior manager.
  • Liaise with Hyundai design, manufacturing, and supplier affiliates as needed.
  • This is a support position, focused on delivering day to day tasks and analyses with a degree of autonomy while receiving general instructions and supervision.

Authority

  • Exercise of discretion and independent judgment directly related to significant management and/or general business operations is not required. 

Education

~ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Statistics/Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering preferred.

Related Experience

  • At least four years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in conducting timely data investigations is preferred.
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing statistical data and identifying trends is preferred.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Ability to proactively collaborate with peers, vehicle component experts in other groups, and leadership within the organization.
  • Ability to concurrently manage several investigations in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read and comprehend federal regulations related to automotive safety.
  • Ability to accurately analyze high-volume technical data.
  • Aptitude to work well with and communicate clearly.

$58,800.00 - $84,000.00 Annual
