About the job. 

Supply chain value stream provides digital solutions and processes for sourcing, planning, distribution, and logistics to enable a digital supply chain. 

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with a deep understanding of the IT landscape at Alfa Laval. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SQL, Azure, and Databricks, as well as a deep understanding of legacy systems.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Design, construct, install, test and maintain highly scalable data management systems.

  • Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices.

  • Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models and proof of concepts.

  • Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data.

  • Develop data set processes for data modelling, mining and production.

  • Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.

  • Create custom software components and analytics applications.

  • Install and update disaster recovery procedures.

  • Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality.

  • Collaborate with data architects, modelers and IT team members on project goals.

What you know 
You have bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. We trust you have solid experience working as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or similar. You possess strong knowledge of SQL, Azure, and Databricks. We trust you have an n-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework. Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl) are vital for this role as well as fluency in business English.

 Experience with agile methodologies, especially Scaled Agile Framework (Safe) is preferred.
