Job Summary

Data+ is a smart data management program— creating a new framework and implementing a data catalog that provides users with a single source of truth— reliable, accessible, trusted, and repeatable data that can be replicated across Dominion Energy.  Self-service access will allow colleagues to work with critical and timely data to produce data products that support key decision making. Data+ will enable advanced analytics tools, speed to insights, smoother work processes and better collaboration across business units. 

As a Data+ Business Intelligence Analyst Intern you will be supporting the Data+ program, for the summer and will gain hands-on experience in data analysis, modeling, and data science. You will learn about data governance, cataloging, acquisition, quality, analysis, interpretation, and visualization. You will also support business metadata, business rules, and data quality remediation, working as part of a cross-functional team to analyze business requirements and assist in developing model strategies or solutions. Additionally, you will help define enterprise data and technology needs for business intelligence and analytics, gaining experience with multiple data platforms and technologies.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

• Basic experience in programming, querying, data structures, statistics, data visualization & communication.
• Basic knowledge in utilizing tools such as Excel, MS Power Bl, MS Access, MS SQL Server Management Studio, Python, or Tableau software.
• Ability to learn problem solving and is a logical and analytical thinker.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to handle deadlines and pressure with concern for quality.
• Strong conceptual thinking and reasoning abilities.

Education Requirements

• Have completed the first year at a 4-year college or university.
• Must be graduating 2025, 2026, 2027 
• Be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Engineering Technology, Engineering (Power Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer) or a related discipline
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
