Position Summary:

The Director, Data Management plays a crucial role in determining an organization’s data needs and developing strategies to meet those needs. This includes working with other departments to understand their data requirements and developing a data governance framework to ensure that data is properly managed and used. The data management director is responsible for implementing processes and procedures to maintain data quality, such as data validation and quality control. This includes monitoring data sources and ensuring that data is properly entered, stored, and maintained to ensure its accuracy and reliability.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Developing and implementing data management strategies, technologies, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of key data elements across systems and processes.
  • Foster a culture that values data-driven decision-making. Encourage teams across the organization to leverage data in their processes and demonstrate how data can be a powerful tool for achieving business objectives.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements, continuously improve data quality, and align data initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Evolving data governance frameworks and ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to resolve data-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Planning, building, delivering, and managing all data management services, including analysis, support, roadmaps, risk, security vulnerabilities, stakeholder relationships, and vendor relationships.
  • Developing metrics, key project indicators, and dashboards to monitor the effectiveness of data management practices and communicate performance to stakeholders.
  • Understand full data lifecycle (including unique business and legal data requirements of various functions) and how quality data can be best provided, analyzed, preserved and optimized to leverage business benefit.
  • Effectively communicate data-driven insights and narratives to stakeholders at all levels, fostering a culture of
  • data literacy and informed decision-making across the organization.
  • Build, mentor, and empower a high-performing team of data professionals to drive innovation and deliver impactful results. Foster a collaborative and hard-working team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Position Requirements:

  • More than 10 years of experience in Data Management
  • More than 7 years of experience in leading others
  • Experience with Data Management & Governance Tools, knowledge of programming languages (python).
  • Preferred Certifications: Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Data Management Fundamentals Certificate from DAMA International
  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, information management, or related field required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Must be proactive and have a strong sense of urgency
  • Must be a team player and able to work with other individuals outside the department
  • Must be able to plan strategically

 

Base Pay Range:  140,000k - 175,000k
