This is a unique opportunity for you to work with Global Technology Applied Research (GTAR) center at JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPMC). The goal of GTAR is to design and conduct research across multiple frontier technologies, in order to enable novel discoveries and inventions, and to inform and develop next-generation solutions for the firm’s clients and businesses.

As a 2025 Immersive Technology (Computer Graphics/3D/AR/VR) Summer Associate within the Global Technology Applied Research (GTAR) division of JPMorgan Chase & Co., your professional growth and development will be supported throughout the internship program via project work related to your academic and professional interests, mentorship, interaction with senior stakeholders and more. Our areas of focus include AR/VR, Computer Graphics, Quantum Computing, Human Machine Interfaces, Computer Vision, and IoT.

Job responsibilities

  • Advance the field of Computer Graphics in the areas of cloud, data, and runtime management for financial applications
  • Augment existing platforms and frameworks with novel research components
  • Participate in technical partnerships with external organizations, such as academic institutions, government agencies, and leading technology firms
  • Contribute to JPMC’s IP by pursuing necessary protections of generated IP
  • Contribute to establishing JPMC’s reputation in the scientific field via publication of select results in prestigious venues

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong understanding of 1+ programming language Python, C#, Typescript, Swift, C++
  • Interest in and prior experience with data modeling and creating a software framework for managing data with graphical user interfaces
  • Interest in creating multi-user software for collaboration and application state management
  • Create high-quality code with attention to detail, readability, and performance in mind
  • Experience building software holistically: From planning and proposal to implementation, testing, optimization, and deployment

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Preference is given to candidates with a strong publication record
