Job Description:

What is the role

The role of the Senior Team Lead is to manage multidisciplinary team of engineering staff for complex business deliverables. To act as the main Asset Coordinator and Business Interface to teams who has complex portfolio support.

The Senior team lead will provide remote support for the asset in 4 Pillars such as

-    Pillar 1 Design

-    Pillar 2 Drawing and Document Management

-    Pillar 3 Data including CMMS and Connect Application Portfolios (CAP)

-    Pillar 4 Digital

What we need from you

Technical Leadership & People Management:

  • Lead activities of operational process teams; ensuring transparency and controls for operational delivery of the 4 pillars.

  • Play the oversight and integrator role amongst Team Leads across responsible portfolios and Asset stakeholders.

  • Sets priorities, develops the team, maintains the interface with asset representation and supports issue resolution within team and in partnership with other Team Leads and Operations Lead as needed.

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire immediate team, supports the other team lead within vertical and the wider TAO teams to deliver exceptional results, sharing/replication of best practices.

  • Lead key projects and drive a continuous improvement culture within the team by increasing team productivity and efficiency year on year e.g., leaders standard work, daily huddles, ESSA.

  • Coach, develop and mentor a team of 12 plus frontline staff and take a lead role as Asset focal point. Active in the development of approaches and processes for data build / drawing management.

  • Manages HSSE performance of team, including delivery of activities / products that protect HSSE delivery within Assets.

  • Support competency development of the staff

  • Inspire and develop the staff throughout the team.

  • Create and foster a strong team spirit within the team and across other Team lead.

Operational Delivery

  • Ensure effective and transparent relationship with asset stakeholder by acting as the main asset coordinator and business interface

  • Ensure that the team delivers on time, with required quality control and continuous improvement.

  • Perform regular quality checks and actively monitor progress.

  • Maintain high staff utilization & productivity.

  • Ensure the teams are compliant with applicable process standards, guidelines, and applicable local requirements.

  • Support the recruitment and onboarding activities.

  • Develop and maintain work instructions, quality plans, training & marketing materials.

  • Ensure that the trained resources are effectively deployed & the KPIs & deliverables are closely monitored & improved.

  • Ensure that billing, time-writing, and expense claims are executed in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate effectively within TAO & other teams (AME, P&T, IT, FO and other teams).

Provide Steer and Direction

  • Play the role of a “Leader of Leaders” to come alongside and support other Team Leads to achieve strategic goals of standardization, integration and collaboration.

  • Provide clarity and direction to the Team Leads and/or immediate team using GPA & business plans.

  • Coach staff and support their individual development plan (IDP).

  • Provide the technical steer to staff for assigned work stream(s).

  • Enable the usage of supporting technologies /IT tools.

  • Encourage the teams to have a clear asset centricity & delivery focus across specific thematic areas such as Digital and/or Data transformation.

  • Support and provides steer to the other team lead to ensure delivery across all team in alignment with GPA and business goals.

Support Account, Migration & Quality Management

  • Support the Deployment and Capability leads in managing various activities related to Accounts, Migrations, QA/QC.

  • Support the Process Excellence in various activities to develop technical skills of staff in area of the 4 pillars.

Ensure Compliance

  • Ensure that activities are executed in line with Shell’s policies and standards. (Data privacy/protection, HSSE&SP, DEP, AMS processes & others).

  • Support timely preparation of TORs for proven work including scoping, FTE estimation & QA/QC.

Dimentions

  • Single Point of Accountability for Digital and/or Data transformation or other thematic areas.

  • Portfolio coverage includes end-to-end Digital and Data capabilities from Design, Drawing and Document management, Data (including Computerized Maintenance Management System and Connect Application Portfolio) and Digital.

  • The role will be reporting to Technical Operations Manager (TOM) for IGRES, who in turn will be reporting to General Manager (ADT GM)

  • Manage complex, diversified projects requiring cross-discipline collaboration.

  • Manage complex Asset(s) Change and Engage from As-Is to To-be processes or organizations spanning across various business partners (e.g. Downstream-Manufacturing, Integrated Gas & Renewables & Energy Solutions & Upstream assets)  and other corporate businesses/ functions as well as internal peers & Extended Leadership Teams.

Key Experiences and Qualifications:

  • University Degree (preferred) in relevant engineering discipline with 12 plus years of work experience in Maintenance, Production Operations & Engineering in Oil & Gas/ Petrochemicals, or any equivalent Industries.

  • Able to proactively manage complex and senior stakeholder expectations and experience in working across different cultures.

  • Experience in leading large team in a virtual environment. A track record in building and sustaining team.

  • Experience of implementing organization changes & continuous improvement projects.

  • Strong business partnering experience and commercial mindset to guide and influence stakeholders towards value-add and data-driven business decisions.

  • Able to demonstrate in depth technical knowledge & required skill sets for the role (as per TAO competency framework).

  • Solid experience in Program management & Team Performance Management.

  • Knowledge in managing data using various CMMS tools, design and revision of P&ID. Knowledge in implementation of digital tools.

  • Competitive applicants will have a proven track record of delivery in Asset and/or Project leadership.

  • Ability to coach and lead other leaders with the vertical to support the Operations lead.

  • The Senior Team Lead needs to be a self-starter, taking initiatives and work without close supervision.

  • Due to multiple/conflicting priorities, candidate needs to be strong in prioritization, managing stakeholder expectations and be resilient under pressure.

  • Should be able to guide the team and steer them through the tough/demanding situations and able to contribute hands on.

  • Should be able to lead and motivate other team leaders and steer them thru tough situations

  • Sound understanding of business / process workflow and having mature mindset to deal and behave under tough / challenging situations.

  • Passionately invest in coaching to enhance teams’ performance and capability for future roles. Hold honest performance conversations and intervene to address patterns of underperformance.

  • Keep the team highly motivated and energized. Take proactive and reactive measures in resolving Ethics & Compliance, ER / IR issues.
