Brown & Brown's Risk Solutions team, formerly known as Beecher Carlson, is looking for a Power BI Developer to join the team remotely.

The Power BI Developer will manage data, assist in data analytics, create and manage critical dashboards, and execute other analytical outputs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and support ETL pipelines in ADF.
  • Create and optimize complex SQL queries, including the ability to write complex stored procedures and functions.
  • Collaborate on designing and deploying data models to be consumed by Power BI services.
  • Implement ETL processes to ensure seamless data flow across systems
  • Enforce data security protocols and ensure compliance with industry and company standards
  • Document database design, data flow, dependencies, and integrations for support

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives in verbal and written communications for customers, executives, and other diverse audiences.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, execute tasks in high-pressure environments and manage workloads
  • Create data models and write queries to extract data from various sources
  • Proficient in Power Query and DAX
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and trends in Power BI and data visualization.
  • Collaboration skills to work with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, manage implementation, and drive technical delivery of projects.

Preferred:

  • Proven knowledge of statistical analysis tools.  SAS, R, or Python a plus
  • Insurance experience or insurance industry knowledge is highly beneficial
  • SQL Server experience is a plus
  • Microsoft platform (Azure / Fabric) is desired
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, computer science, or equivalent proven experience in a quantitative field
