We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied working student occupation in the area of Vehicle Data Streams - Vehicle Data Architecture. The Digital Vehicle Infrastructure team focuses on applied research to create a robust and scalable architecture for modern vehicles. We investigate areas such as semantic data modeling, data synchronization, hardware abstraction, data stream management, processing, and reasoning to bring value to the company and leverage promising technologies.

 

What awaits you?

  • Development, testing, and implementation of software or system-related components based on existing ideas to shape vehicle architectural decisions around data streams.
  • Conducting investigations and research on the current state-of-the-art in the corresponding areas to keep the vehicle architecture up to date.
  • Proposing novel ideas to further extend the state-of-the-art in data stream management for vehicles.
  • Socializing and communicating advances with both technical and non-technical audiences to foster collaboration and understanding.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate data stream management systems into the overall vehicle architecture, ensuring compatibility and seamless operation.

 

What should you bring along?

  • Currently enrolled as an ongoing student in a Master's program related to the aforementioned areas.
  • Strong programming skills in at least one language (e.g., Python, Java, or C++) and familiarity with Software Engineering best practices (e.g., version control, documentation, test units, etc.).
  • General understanding of data streams, data modeling, and database concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, distributed systems, and knowledge graphs would be a plus.
  • Proficient English language communication skills.
  • A continuous learning mindset.
