Machine Vision Engineer

Since 1983, HTI Cybernetics® has provided intelligent manufacturing solutions that support and enhance production, including automation systems, material handling solutions, assembly tooling, and collaborative robotics. 


Job Duties:

  • Develop, test, integrate and troubleshoot solutions for visual inspection systems, code readers, error proofing, verification of correct assembly of parts, Robot Vision off-set to part. 
  • Create machine vision inspections based on specification and scope of work.
  • Travel to install new systems and provide onsite support for existing systems at customer facilities. 
  • Perform in-house feasibility studies. 
  • Perform system validation.
  • Customer Support
  • Assisting customers with technical support remotely and on-site. 
  • Setting up product demonstrations
  • Developing written materials for customer training classes.
  • Submitting service reports after customer site events. 
  • Assisting in the installation of new systems at customer sites. 
  • Proposing changes to existing product. 

Work Hours:

6AM – 9AM start time, Monday – Friday (flexible) with some Saturday’s.

Average of 50 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Must have experience installing, troubleshooting and integration of machine vision systems for automated tooling.
  • 3D Robot Guidance (PhotoNeo)
  • 2D Robot Guidance (Matrox)
  • Direct Part Marking (Cognex)
  • 2D Error proofing (Matrox)
  • Barcode Reading (Matrox)
  • Programming – Writing programs using the camera manufacturer’s interface as well as some object-orientated programming
  • Mechanical – Work with design on best practice for mounting of the cameras and lights into a machine or cell.
  • Optical – Designing the optical path and selecting the appropriate cameras, lensing, and lighting for the application – knowledge of photography is a plus
  • Generating and documenting vision feasibility studies both in the lab and in the field
  • Reviewing general specifications and scope of work documents
  • Knowledge of design requirements that include; establishing optical designs, generating generating a sequence of operations and camera logic
  • Industrial controls (PLC & HMI) – knowledge of industrial controls is a plus
  • Assisting in installation and debug
  • Launch and standby support
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time (domestic)

  • Cognex VisionPro Deep Learning Studio/ViDi
  • Keyence XG Vision Editor
  • Microsoft Office
  • Certification in Machine Vision Systems Preferred
  • Robot Knowledge Preferred
