You play a cross-functional role in setting up and maintaining an operational dialogue and continuous improvement process for NETOP & Data activities, in collaboration with the Operational & Safety Excellence Governance Manager and local management. You therefore represent NETOP & Data on the Operational & Safety Excellence managers team and work together to determine priorities and define cross-functional actions.

In this context, in close collaboration with the department manager and local line management, you:

  • Implement processes and initiatives, organise workshops, put the necessary support resources in place to ensure the improvement of the integration of activities within NETOP & Data and the creation of a culture of continuous improvement in terms of safety, quality and efficiency.
  • You act as coordinator for the implementation of best practices in order to ensure that operational excellence is achieved for activities within the department.
  • You manage the performance indicators in the area (development, communication, use during meetings, definition of actions, etc.) by gathering and processing the data necessary to be able to assess, monitor and improve the services.
  • You regularly discuss performance indicators with operational managers, encourage them to adopt improvement initiatives and support them in implementing and monitoring such initiatives.
  • You guide the transformation projects that will have an impact on NetOp's people, liaising with programme managers, project leaders, operational management and teams to ensure that the project is properly implemented.

More broadly, you work closely with the head of the Network & Data Operations department to help define the department’s strategy and ensure that the activities are in keeping with the Assets strategy.

Operations Engineer

You actively participate in the activity of operating the regional networks by taking charge of their cross-functional activities and, where necessary, occasionally taking over part of the work of one of the operations engineers.

You ensure that feedback occurs in an optimal manner and carry out and/or coordinate the necessary cross-functional actions on behalf of and/or within the department, ensuring consistent operation and development between the North and South dispatching.

In consultation with the regional dispatching managers, you draw up the necessary procedures and ensure their governance (quality of procedures, keeping up to date, availability, etc.) in order to provide dispatchers with a framework and the necessary resources to provide a quality service and ensure proper compliance with processes, rules and procedures.

You are the SPOC for users (i.e. Merksem & Namur dispatchers, colleagues, external, etc.) and for BA/IT/external for the regional control centre applications in order to facilitate and optimise the expression of business needs and the implementation of IT solutions in an efficient and consistent manner through the various control centres.

You represent the Network & Data Operations department in different working groups (incident, Experience Feedback, MFT, etc.) and support the operations managers and the department by acting as a coordinator in different cross-functional/corporate projects where you represent the department and/or take the lead if needed.

Security of Supply

You are responsible within NETOP for the various means put in place to guarantee security of supply and as such actively represent the department in internal and external discussions relating to emergency (rescue plan and restoration plan) or associated (management of blackout, of shortage) plans.

More specifically, you ensure the proper operational coordination of black-start testing as well as the updating of the restoration plans and all the resulting internal NETOP procedures.

For this area, you serve as liaison between Network Operations (Assets division) and the Emergency Plans team (Customers, Market & System division).
