Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Athens.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• BSc/MSc in Electrical & Computer/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or other related fields
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in Big Data and data-related technologies
• Very good on programming expertise in Python and SQL
• Good experience with Apache Beam pipelines
• HANDS-ON streaming experience (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Flink, etc.) and GCP Dataflow is required
• Expert level understanding of distributed computing principles
• Experience with Cloud native data services, GCP is required
• Good understanding of Big Data querying tools, such as Hive and Impala
• Experience with integration of data from multiple sources, such as RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle), ERP systems and files, along with a strong understanding of SQL queries, joins, and relational schemas
• Experience with NoSQL databases, such as HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB
• Experience with Data Modeling and knowledge of ETL techniques and frameworks
• Performance tuning of Spark or other distributed system jobs
• Experience with designing and implementing Big data / distributed solutions
• Knowledge of orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, Cloud Composer, etc.
• Practitioner of Agile methodology e.g, JIRA and experience with version control, preferably Git
• Experience with Docker
• Should have CI/CD experience
  

Nice to have

• Exposure to Telco Networks is preferred
• Programming skills in Java and Scala are a plus
• Experience with Kubernetes is a plus

• Proficient in English and Greek, with a high level of fluency and comprehension
