The anticipated salary range for this role is between $225,000.00 and $255,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

Analyze research and conduct interviews with unit leaders to assess business intelligence needs and determine appropriate systems and applications to design in order to meet requirements. Determine appropriate back-end structures to facilitate effective data collection and processing, eliminate redundancy and improve data integrations. Coordinate user training on business intelligence systems.

Role Objectives: Delivery

Conduct analysis of business functions to identify areas that would benefit most from business intelligence improvement, and develop overall business intelligence strategy for the firm. Determine appropriate back-end infrastructure and data storage schema to support business intelligence systems and create budgets for system implementations. Communicate plans for business intelligence initiatives to business unit leads and provide analysis of the benefits of new systems to encourage adoption and buy-in. Oversee the adoption and performance of business intelligence systems and provide reports to management and business unit leads on how well key performance indicators are being met.

Role Objectives: Interpersonal

Work with management to review current business intelligence systems performance. Determine budgets and develop overall strategy for the organization. Engage with business unit leads to understand challenges and business needs that can be addressed with BI systems. Communicate analysis and benefits to generate support for process changes. Collaborate with IT systems administrators to budget and purchase hardware and systems architecture to run business intelligence initiatives. Partner with application and middleware developers to manage the pipeline of tools to transform and integrate data and platforms for the modeling and analysis of data.

Role Objectives: Expertise

Demonstrate an authoritative perspective on business intelligence applications and services, data processing tools, and modeling and analysis platforms. Maintain relationships with platform vendors to stay current on offerings. Possess advanced knowledge of business analysis frameworks and concepts, especially those relevant to business operations, to effectively identify gaps, prioritize projects showing the greatest benefit and strategize corporate initiatives. Display in-depth understanding of different data modeling concepts and the ability to align system requirements with the correct data storage schema and integrations. Exhibit excellent change management skills to lead the planning, creation and implementation of new business intelligence systems.
