The anticipated salary range for this role is between $179,000.00 and $221,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

Analyze research and conduct interviews with unit leaders to assess business intelligence needs and determine appropriate systems and applications to design in order to meet requirements. Determine appropriate back-end structures to facilitate effective data collection and processing, eliminate redundancy and improve data integrations. Coordinate user training on business intelligence systems.

Role Objectives: Delivery

Analyze research and interviews with business unit leads to assess business intelligence needs and determine appropriate systems and applications to design in order to meet requirements. Determine appropriate back-end structures to facilitate effective data collection and processing, eliminate redundancy and improve data integrations. Design policy and procedures for the entering of data including pre-processing, error correcting and automated collection systems. Develop reporting tools to enable fast and effective querying of data systems and automated report generation. Coordinate user training on the functions of business intelligence systems and how to query them.

Role Objectives: Interpersonal

Work with business unit leads to understand business intelligence needs, review current systems and propose new implementations or integrations. Collaborate with database administrators to design and develop data storage structures necessary to support business intelligence systems and support the function and maintenance of implemented databases. Engage IT systems administrators to install and maintain hardware and systems architecture to run business intelligence initiatives. Partner with application and middleware developers to create tools to transform and integrate data and build platforms for the modeling and analysis of data.

Role Objectives: Expertise

Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of business intelligence applications and services, data processing tools, and modeling and analysis platforms. Possess understanding of business analysis frameworks and concepts, especially those relevant to business operations, to effectively identify gaps and prioritize projects showing the greatest benefit. Display expertise with different data modeling concepts and the ability to align system requirements with the correct data storage schema and integrations. Show understanding of different development frameworks and scripting languages required to perform data transformations, develop reporting tools and engines, and automate key functions and monitoring duties.
