The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for the full-stack BI applications across a wide range of stakeholder groups within the business. The BI Developer supports the reporting and analytical needs of the business by defining, developing and configuring applications for internal and external usage. This role is focused specifically on the data and processing layer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Microsoft BI Stack (T-SQL, ETL (SSIS), and C#).    They will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining our BI data infrastructure, as well as creating modules and functions to support data automation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as subject matter expert for best practices in C# and SQL and contribute to, define, and adhere to team style template and design philosophy.
  • Create and maintain C# modules and SQL Server Procedures to simplify processes and automate routine tasks.
  • Evaluate user requirements and identify the best source and delivery of the information requested by business users.
  • Interface with stakeholders to gather business requirements, design appropriate BI solutions, and implement applications against development standards and best practices, and build key performance indicators for divisions of the business.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data warehousing, ETL, and BI data solutions.
  • Maintain documentation and keep work status up to date in project tracking tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Collaborate with the business and IT teams to understand reporting and data needs.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through proper testing and validation.
  • Stay up to date with new BI technologies and trends.
  • Design and develop enterprise and departmental business intelligence, data warehousing and reporting.
  • Create end-to-end solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Provide technical and business knowledge support to the team.
  • Analyze product, market, and share trends to build warehouse data.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications.
  • Maintain data analytics platforms.
  • Evaluate and improve existing BI systems and troubleshoot on BI models
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science , Information Systems or equivalent education and/or experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ using databases, querying, data modeling and BI tools including SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, MDX, TSQL, PL/SQL
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with data engineering including ETL and data warehousing
  • Minimum of 5 years of data modeling relational and multi-dimensional databases
  • Minimum of 5 years using analytical tools including PowerBI and/or Tableau. Cognos experience a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years of data modeling relational and multi-dimensional databases
  • Minimum of 2 years using data visualization tools such as PowerBI and/or Tableau.
  • Experience working in a complex data environment with rapidly changing requirements
  • Experience with Data Visualization and design
  • Prior exposure to cloud base data warehousing technologies preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies
  • Bricks and performing SSIS ETL from on premise solution to cloud data warehouse
  • Advanced MS Excel Skills
