The Role:Beam is looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be working cross-functionally with business domain experts, analytics, and engineering teams to build and maintain our data platform. You will have a significant part in building a solid data foundation for a data-driven company.

What You Will Do:

  • Build and maintain data pipelines to ingest data from internal and external sources into our data lake
  • Develop and maintain our data warehouse
  • Build and maintain our overall data platform to support the needs of the organization
  • Work with teams to develop and deploy machine learning resources

What Skills Will Help You Be Successful:

  • 5+ years of experience working as an engineer with cloud data architecture (AWS, GCP), preferably in an insurance domain
  • 2-3 years of Data warehousing experience
  • 2-3 years of Advanced Python experience in Python
  • 2-3 years of Infrastructure-as-code experience
  • 2-3 years of Proficient in SQL concepts, such as window functions
  • 1-2 years Experience using Workflow orchestration tools such as Dagster or Airflow
  • Experience working with Docker
  • Familiar with transformation tools such as dbt
  • Experience with SaaS ETL tools such as Fivetran
  • BI visualization administration experience such as Tableau or Looker
  • Ability to read Ruby code is a plus
  • Experience working with SaaS data such as Salesforce, Hubspot, and Google Analytics is a plus
  • Nice to have Machine learning operations experience
