Primary responsibility for this role is to learn the architecture and design of the Enterprise Data Platform. The responsibilities will entail onboarding new data sources into and provisioning data for the downstream systems, implementing key enhancements to the DevOps processes, all in line with the best practices.

Enterprise Data Management and Analytics (EDMA) is a growing team, accountable for the operation and delivery of the Enterprise Data Platform and Advanced Analytics Platform. These platforms are constructed using a range of modern cloud-based technologies, like AWS suite of services, Snowflake, etc. The ideal candidate should have a keen understanding and practical experience with similar technology stacks. Additionally, they should possess hands-on technical skills, a problem-solving mindset, a strong sense of accountability, and the capability to identify and address challenges independently.

This role will report into the Senior Manager, Data Analytics and Enterprise Data Architecture.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • On-board of new data sets into the platform

  • Integration of CI/CD pipelines with GIT 

  • Creation of data dictionary and documentation of datasets into Confluence / Google Documents 

  • Collaboration with clients, manage expectations and handle queries

Skills:

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education; ideally in a computer science program or related science field

  • Good knowledge of AWS suite of services like EMR, S3, EC2, Lambda functions, Managed Airflow, etc.

  • Hands-on experience on python, SQL programming languages

  • Working knowledge of Spark, Hive, etc.

  • Good understanding of data warehousing and data modeling techniques

  • Experience on development using Agile methodologies

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Be a strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Be a self starter with ability to follow through on projects assigned

 

Nice to have skills:

  • Previous experience in the financial and/or securities industry

  • Experience in OKTA integrations, scala, java

Note: 4 month internship - start date immediate (September 2024) to December 31, 2024

Hybrid (Toronto Office: 2-3 days a week)
