The Global Services Solutions IDS Team supports company critical solutions that enable our Global Services business partners, e.g. Legal and Ethics and Compliance, to support and protect Lilly’s most essential assets. This position will be responsible for the support, development, and maintenance of our Global Services key services/Data platform.

The solutions architect will be responsible for the deep understanding of AWS services, UI development needs, ability to evaluate requirements of the businesses and make architectural recommendations for implementation and deployments.  The resource will lead in setting up best-practice architecture recommendations for application development, operations and partner with the data organizations and teams.  The resource will be looked as a technical leader and be responsible in the leading, and consultation of application architecture designs, peer review code, and champion continuous improvements for Global services.  At times, this position will be required to be hands-on in delivery.  This role will assume responsibility for ensuring our cloud environments are architected to ensure cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strong understanding of AWS well architected framework with relevant experience designing and implementing solutions in accordance to the framework.
• Strong application development background with relevant experience in developing and deploying enterprise scale application in AWS.
• Experience with deploying automation infrastructure by utilizing AWS Cloud Formation techniques.
• Hands on code development in Python, PySpark, SQL and AWS services.   Please add PowerBI
• Experience in DevOps and UI development
• Experience with Agile Development.
• Demonstrate the ability to drive, lead others and influence others outside of their sphere of influence.
• Experience in translating business requirements to recommended solutions
• Design, develop, test, improve, and maintain new and existing solutions for data integration, data prep, ingestion, cleansing, and transforming raw data into curated datasets for business consumption.
• Incorporate deep data management expertise into solutions, including permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring.
• Validate and qualify solutions. 
• Identify, troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues.  
• Work with business and IT groups to understand source systems and enterprise infrastructure offerings.
• Work with data from multiple data sources to build integrated views that will drive decisions
• Consult with internal customers who own the data to develop information relationships that lead to actionable insights.
• Work in Agile Sprints with business facing project teams
• Work closely with other developers to ensure system consistency and adherence to standards and best practices.
• Develop solid understanding of business processes and needs to identify new capabilities and features.
• Optimize and maintain legacy solutions.
• Collaborate with administrators and clients to provide technical and data management support.
• Solve database usage issues and malfunctions.
• Develop and maintain technical and training documentation.
• Ensure all data solutions meet performance requirements.
• Research and suggest new products, services, and protocols.
• Partner with Data Architects to understand and influence evolving technical design.
• Coach/ Mentor management, team, and others on technologies and design.

Required Experience:

• Experience developing and deploying applications on AWS
• Node.JS
• Experience working with GitHub
• Expertise in Python, SQL, Spark, UNIX Shell scripting
• Experience with JSON, REST API, and other data integration technologies
• Experience with ETL tools, PySpark, Glue, Lambda, Athena, CICD
• Experience with continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment processes
• Experience with systems/data integration projects
• Familiarity with Scrum teams and working in Agile environment
• Excellent self-management skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years’ experience in the implementation of modern data ecosystems.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more cloud-based data solutions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• A high level of intellectual curiosity, external perspective, and innovation interest
• Strong analytical, problem solving and investigative skills
• Experience in applying quality and compliance requirements
• Experience with security models and development on large data sets
• Fluency in English.
• Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Software development experience
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills
