Junior XML Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior XML Engineer to join our development team. As a Junior XML Engineer, you will work on creating and maintaining XML documents and data exchange systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that XML files are accurate, well-structured, and integrated seamlessly into the company’s systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• XML Data Creation & Management: Develop, edit, and maintain well-structured XML documents according to client or project specifications.
• Schema Development: Assist in developing and maintaining DTDs (Document Type Definitions), XSDs (XML Schemas), and other XML-related standards for data validation.
• XML Integration: Work on the integration of XML documents into applications, ensuring proper communication between various systems.
• Transformations: Utilize XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations) to transform XML data as per project requirements.
• Testing & Debugging: Assist in testing and debugging XML documents and related applications, ensuring the integrity of the data.
• Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the XML data meets business needs.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of XML structures, schemas, and processes.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated with XML-related technologies, tools, and standards.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: 0-2 years of experience working with XML, XSLT, XSD, and other markup languages.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Basic understanding of XML, XSLT, XSD, DTD, and XPath.
• Familiarity with XML parsers, validators, and editors (such as Altova XMLSpy or Oxygen XML Editor).
• Knowledge of software development principles and programming languages like Python, Java, or .NET is a plus.
• Experience with data integration and transformation tools is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with APIs and data exchange formats such as JSON.
• Exposure to web services (SOAP/REST) and knowledge of how XML integrates with them.
• Familiarity with SQL and databases for data extraction and manipulation.
• Basic knowledge of Agile methodologies and version control tools like Git.
