We launched in Australia in early 2022, providing in-store and ecommerce payment solutions to around 52,000 Australian businesses. The Opportunity

The Data Analyst is a member of the Analytics & Business Intelligence (ABI) team, responsible for the end-to-end delivery of business requirements to stakeholders. As a Data Analyst, you will be a full-stack analyst, capable of reporting data, extracting important insights, and developing data models using various data techniques.

In this role, you will work closely with the Data Architect to build the lakehouse architecture and collaborate with the Delivery Manager to fulfill business requirements for our stakeholders. Additionally, you will serve as a Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for at least one major business function (Product, Market, Finance, or Operations), working collaboratively to meet that function’s analytics and business intelligence requirements and provide unique business insights.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation and global business units.
  • Be a single point of contact (SPoC) for one or more business functions and work collaboratively to provide unique insights that support business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the payments industry and ANZ Worldline's business, systems, services, and products.
  • Work closely with the Delivery Manager and Head of ABI to ensure that all stakeholder requirements are delivered in a timely manner, including project, ad-hoc, and business-as-usual activities.
  • Perform analyses of data to derive insights that support business decision-making, including the identification of patterns, trends, and relationships.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate insights and findings to stakeholders in an intuitive way.
  • Develop predictive models that assist the business in making data-driven decisions.
  • Design and build data pipelines aligned with Data Governance and DataOps principles, and actively contribute to the development of the lakehouse architecture.
  • Design and implement pipelines that can extract data from various sources, transform it, and load it into the data warehouse or data lake.
  • Support the design, building, and maintenance of infrastructure that supports data storage, processing, and retrieval.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of data APIs, ETL processes, and data integration systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain data models that meet the organisation's data storage and analysis needs.
  • Support quality objectives through active involvement in Quality Assurance processes, including peer reviews and quality assessments of deliverables.
  • Provide guidance to team members on best practices, and serve as a Subject Matter Expert on key technologies within the team.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, including tools and processes, as they relate to data engineering, data science, and data analysis.

 

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree (Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar) 
  • Database or cloud accreditations e.g. Databricks, Azure,  Development Operations ( DevOps), Power BI
  • 7+ years within a payments or technology driven organisation. 
  • 7+ years developing datalake, data warehousing, lakehouse and business intelligence solutions. 
  • Experience with DataOps, Agile or DevOps delivery, quality practices, techniques and tools. 
  • Excellent analytical skills, including statistical analysis, data visualisation, and machine learning techniques. 
  • Excellent database, ETL and data warehousing skills. 
  • Advanced  programming skills, including Python, SQL, and Power BI DAX
