Job Summary

Are you an experienced data engineer or architect who is passionate about designing and implementing data solutions that are across business domains? Do you have a strong background in applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles and practices to data engineering projects, preferably in the financial services industry? We are looking for a Domain-Driven Data Specialist for our CIB Business Enablement team. You will collaborate closely with domain experts, engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to address complex and cross-domain challenges and opportunities, ultimately driving value creation and innovation across the organisation.

Job Description

As a Domain-Driven Data Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Domain-Driven Data Solution Design: You will design and deliver data solutions that are aligned with the business domains and subdomains within the CIB sector, using best practice and principles such as Domain-Driven Design (DDD), bounded contexts, ubiquitous language, and strategic patterns.
• Data Integration and Interoperability: You will ensure that the data solutions are integrated and interoperable across the domains and subdomains, using appropriate techniques such as event-driven architecture, messaging, APIs, and data contracts.
• Domain-Driven Data Analysis and Insights: You will perform data analysis and provide insights that are relevant and meaningful for the business domains and subdomains, using tools and methods such as data profiling, data quality, data lineage, data modelling, and data visualisation.
• Continuous Improvement and Innovation: You will continuously monitor and improve the data solutions, using feedback loops, metrics, testing, and experimentation. You will also identify and explore new and emerging technologies and trends that can enhance the data solutions and the business value.
• Stakeholder Management: You will communicate and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, such as domain experts, engineers, architects, and business users, to understand their needs, expectations, and feedback. You will also promote and advocate the benefits and best practices of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and data engineering across the organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Educated to degree level, ideally in a related field, e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Data Engineering
• 5-10 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on designing and implementing data solutions within specific business domains.
• Proven experience applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles and practices to data engineering projects, preferably in the financial services industry.
• Strong knowledge and skills in data integration, data quality, data modelling, data analysis, and data visualisation.
• Proficient in using various data technologies and tools, such as SQL, NoSQL, ETL, Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Curious and creative mindset, with the ability to learn new things, solve problems, and innovate.
