The three main foundational pillars of our internship program are: develop, educate and network. We want to ensure each of our interns receive a real-world working experience that encourages academic, professional and personal growth.

Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. Our interns will have the flexibility of working 2 days remotely, and 3 days in office per week at one of our state-of-the-art offices in Chicago, Kansas City, and New York City. To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a university or college program and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place. The Enterprise Applications team is hiring for Enterprise Applications Engineering Intern:

The Enterprise Applications Engineering Intern at Cboe will work with a team of engineers to configure corporately shared applications like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket/Github, Artifactory, and Jenkins.  You will translate business ideas and requirements into actionable configurations and software solutions. You will help support our incident management software and our customer relationship management software and the agents that assist our customers.  You’ll also build custom integrations and automations natively in these tools or with one of our software development platforms like Python, Groovy, or PowerShell. This opportunity will allow you to gain professional experience in the Finance industry and help Cboe to streamline and standardize our internal infrastructure application offerings.

Your responsibilities and learning objectives will be:

  • Participate in the team’s daily and weekly work planning sessions.
  • Develop actionable metrics-based reports to identify unused resources
  • Remediate redundancies in software deployments and configurations.
  • Modernize deployment methodologies for Linux-based software applications.
  • Contribute to the development of corporate training for new software features.
  • Learn software management and deployment principles for large-scale installations.
  • Learn secure application integration standards and demonstrate these practices in project work.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A positive attitude and self-governing mindset
  • Familiarity with SAAS platform API concepts, security models, and analytics tools.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a university or college program and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place.

You’ll really stand out with:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Groovy, or PowerShell.
  • An understanding of API scripting and how to read API functional documentation
  • A portfolio of software development projects requiring interactive integrations
