Senior Data Analyst - Reference Lab

IDEXX is hiring a Senior Data Analyst to support Reference Labs. As a Senior Data Analyst you will provide database and analytical support for multiple initiatives, projects, and programs. Perform data analyses using appropriate statistical methods and graphical display standards. Retrieve and analyze data and present reports to management for use in supporting operations and business objectives. Provide recommendations for improvement and written documentation that relates to the analysis of the data. Develop in-depth knowledge of customer information systems, and provide training and support to users.

This is a full-time position with an expectation of core East Coast hours of Monday-Friday 9AM-3PM.

What you will do:

• Provide database and analytical support for multiple initiatives, projects, and programs.
• Design, implement, and deliver reports, exception reports, measurements, and analyses to support customer-focused, data-driven analysis.
• Perform data analyses using appropriate statistical methods and graphical display standards.
• Retrieve and analyze data and present reports to management for use in supporting operations and business objectives.
• Analyze, summarize and present information and data for discussion and decision making.
• Provide recommendations for improvement and written documentation that relates to the analysis of the data. Research data anomalies and issues.
• Work with data source systems and target systems to identify data issues and data gaps. May track status and develop/update data source systems and target systems. Identify and recommend solutions as needed.
• Works on significant and unique issues.  Assists in decision making and business strategies.
• Performs in an advisory, leadership role and capacity.
• Leads projects and teams, including project planning, scheduling and obtaining resources to ensure that objectives are met. 
• Provide guidance, mentor, train, and coach others. May direct work of others and/or directly manage others.
• Works independently and collaborates with senior management and senior peers.
• Solves problems independently and assumes responsibility taking a leadership role.
• No required travel.

What you will need to succeed:

• Bachelors degree of equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• 8+ years of related experience.
• Strong/extensive knowledge of data management systems such as LIMS & RDE.
• Strong/advanced knowledge of data, databases, and their manipulation such as SQL, Excel and data build tools such as DBT, Snowflake, Tableau, Jira & Github.
• Solid understanding of good graphical display standards and various graphical techniques
• Ability to quickly learn and leverage various software tools and systems
• Ability to frame a complex diagnostic question appropriately, develop an analytical strategy, assemble the relevant data and results to clearly communicate a coherent set of conclusions.
• Demonstrated project management skills. Can lead own projects and manage or coach other’s projects from concept to successful implementation.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to present information to all levels of the organization.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate, coach, mentor and resolve conflict
• Strong leadership skills with experience influencing and motivating people at all levels.
• Strong visualization with ability to tell 'the story' of data.
• Ability to work with requestors to understand their true needs and to communicate complex analysis results to all levels of the organization.
• Results oriented Self Starter, ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines with limited supervision; strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Detail orientated with ability to follow-through
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate across multiple functions and divisions.
• Extensive skills and proficiency.
