Who we are

Our Data and Analytics Strategy emphasises the importance of data and analytics towards meeting organisational objectives.  The application of analytical solutions to business problems can help us reduce cost, improve efficiency and ultimately provide a better level of service to our customers.  The Data Team within Welsh Water works alongside every area of our business, to develop solutions that add real value.

The Data Team within Dwr Cymru Welsh Water provide the organisation with data and analytics solutions that contribute positively towards our organisational objectives, principally through the enablement of data-led decision making.  Accompanying change management activities are key for ensuring that solutions are understood and accepted quickly, so that they become immediately effective when used in the business.

Business intelligence, a form of analytics, provides us with the information that helps us understand “what happened”.  The organisation is able to make key data-led decisions, using this information, that help offer better service to our customers.  An enterprise-wide approach to business intelligence, and the improvements in understanding, accuracy and consistency offered through this approach, can further enhance the capability that business intelligence can provide to our organisation.
