This role will be based in Edinburgh, UK.
We are an Artificial Intelligence and Algorithm development team based in Edinburgh. We work on advanced research for novel sensors as well as supporting the algorithm enhancement of more mature in field products. Our small world class functional team supports the newly created Acute Care and Monitoring (ACM) Operating Unit (OU) that is committed to excellence in innovation and commercialization to pursue our vision and long-term business growth. The OU is based mainly out of Boulder, Colorado. You will be an Artificial Intelligence and Algorithm guru with an entrepreneurial flare for both early research and development, and ongoing product algorithm support. You will be adept at manipulating data, signal processing, image processing and the configuration and training of neural nets from simple processing units to full deep learning multi-layered nets. You will have a small company fast innovation mentality where no job is out of scope, ready to muck in anywhere and do anything required to get the job done.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Data manipulation, organisation, labelling and management. 
  • Assisting clinical teams and collaborators on methods and best practices for collecting data, labelling data, and formatting outputs. 
  • Signal processing, data modelling, neural net design in Matlab and python. 
  • Basic C/C++ skill set 
  • Assist firmware and application teams in embedding algorithms 
  • Test design, and execution of algorithm stress tests and multi-data sets for training and proof of concept 

Responsibilities Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in physics, Mathematics, Data Engineering Biomedical or similar 
  • Proven experience Artificial Intelligence and Algorithm development: Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Neural Networks and Deep Learning
  • Fluent in tools and techniques to support the role: Matlab, Python, C/C++
  • Knowledge of medical vital signs sensors, capabilities, workings and constraints 
  • An innovative and collaborative approach to research and development within a multi-disciplinary team
