Arthrex is actively seeking a Sr Applications Analyst - Power BI who will work directly with the Data & Analytics departments within Arthrex on Business application configuration and support in a corporate  environment.  Excellent communications and analytical skills, strong Power BI skills, strong technical project management skills and a Bachelors’ degree will be essential for this position. Main Objective:

Responsible to design and/or configure, analyze, implement, test, optimize, and maintain the organization’s cloud computing applications.  Additionally interact with and assist the business such that they successfully utilize the organization's cloud applications.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Actively performs administrative, monitoring and diagnostic functions in the Power BI Service platform ensuring a healthy environment and smooth operation for over 5000 users.
• Interact with the business to drive their success through training, coaching, and problem resolution
• Participate in application configuration, analysis, management, and maintenance in an enterprise environment, including:
  • Access administration and user onboarding.
  • Issue resolution, patching, and performance monitoring.
  • Monitor systems for performance improvement opportunities, make recommendations and then execute on those recommendations
  • Monitor system logs for unusual activity and escalate or make recommendations for resolution.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects to provide application specifications and requirements, as well as operational, and capacity planning information.
• Support user training activities.
• Provide application end user support.
• Respond, resolve, or escalate reported incidents.
• Ensures that the Power BI Service is secured from external intrusions, and that Arthrex’s network is protected from threats potentially exposed through Power BI Service while following Arthrex security protocols
• Under management direction, may participate as subject matter expert on the organization’s cloud applications for associated projects.
• Responsible for coordinating application needs from back-end platforms through user interface.
• Ensure stability, integration, and integrity of production systems.
• Participate in assessment of application security and identity management requirements, where applicable.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyze business processes identifying potential opportunities for streamlining and improvements in efficiencies and functionality.
• Monitor, record, investigate, and diagnose system faults and errors aimed to resolve technical issues and respond to requests for support.
• Provide technical training assistance for users, applications programming team, and other staff.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cloud technology, including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
• Document system requirements, define scope and objectives, and create system specifications.
• Create and maintain application operational and instructional documentation as necessary.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 on-call coverage support.
• Mentor junior Analysts.
• Work with IT management and Business Analysts to provide direction in large cross-functional teams.

Specialized Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service orientation
• Experience in data analysis and summarizing insights is important
• Strong analytical & business acumen
• Strong experience in data visualization and data storytelling
• Experience working in projects where multiple functions work in a matrix structure is a plus
• Good experience using Power BI desktop to create data models, datasets and reports; preferred
• Good experience using Power BI add-in tools such as DAX studio; preferred
• Good experience or knowledge with SQL Server Analysis Services SSAS or Azure Analysis Services AAS
• Good experience in Python language and SQL programming
• Basic skills in regression and association analysis, and the ability to identify outliers, with a foundational grasp of data analysis principles
• Experience in data cleaning techniques, including handling missing values and data formatting issues.
• Experience with Databricks or Snowflake is a plus
• Strong understanding of database concepts and organization
• Strong time management, organization skills, and ability to juggle multiple responsibilities.
• Strong team player, but also able to work and focus independently and be self-directed on projects.
• Strong attention to detail and highly focused on quality of work, over quantity.
• SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft certifications is a plus
• Understand the major functions in a global organization
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred (Medical Device manufacturing Experience is a plus)

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 5 + years of relevant work experience required
• 3+ Years Power BI Service, Gateway and Capacity Administration
• 2+ Years experience managing and administering software & hardware configurations of enterprise scale software (business intelligence preferred)
