About the opportunity

The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) team is looking for a motivated Integrations and Data Engineering Developer to join their high performing team. In your new role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing integration solutions to solve business challenges. You will use technical subject matter knowledge to analyse data integration issues and develop, test and deploy suitable solutions.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • identify data and integration performance issues, using technical knowledge to retrieve data and analyse logic, code, and root causes
  • develop high quality, maintainable integration solutions for ingesting, transforming, cleansing, storing, and managing large data sets from various sources
  • develop unit test plans to accurately test business logic and functionality in various environments
  • support the successful deployment of data integration processes across environments
  • deliver integration projects to agreed targets and timeframes, managing client expectations and ensuring risks are identified and mitigated
  • stay abreast of new IT technologies and best practices, contributing ideas for methodology and process improvements
  • engage and build strong relationships with stakeholders, facilitating discussion to address concerns and gather feedback, ensuring alignment with work area goals
  • manage work area reporting and compliance ensuring accurate information on university systems and adherence to work area requirements
  • coordinate and manage risk assessment activities within the work area, prioritising workplace health and safety and ensuring consistent alignment with university guidelines and best practices
  • perform work activities relevant to the role’s key accountabilities as approved by the Manager and commensurate to the role’s classification level.

About you

  • strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
  • excellent interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills, including effective management of stakeholder relationships, commitment to ensure service excellence
  • demonstrated experience in prioritising your own and your team workload to meet competing and ad hoc demands.
