Data Analyst Flex General Management Consultant

The Opportunity:
As a Data Analyst, you love diving into data and turning it into meaningful insights. With the abundance of structured and unstructured data, you understand the importance of transforming complex data sets into useful information to solve challenges. As a Data Analyst at Booz Allen, you can use your skills and experience to support a mission and use data for good. We need a Data Analyst like you to bring your knowledge to modernize the defense industry.

As a client-facing Flex Data Analyst, you’ll work closely with your team and clients to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. Not only will you provide a deep understanding of their data, you’ll also advise your client on what the information means and how it can be used to make an impact on the availability and safety of critical defense assets. You’ll prepare and conduct business analyses and study needs assessments, requirements analysis or definition, and cost or benefit analyses to align business systems, solutions, and initiatives. You’ll analyze metrics, performance measurements, requirements, reports, and recommendations for the management, organizational structure, policies and procedures, and business systems.

How You’ll Contribute:
As a data analyst on our team, you’ll:

  • Use your data analytics expertise to support client and stakeholder relationships.

  • Research, develop, and test data methodologies, and generate cross-functional solutions through collection, interpretation, and evaluation of large data sets.

  • Contribute to impactful work and guide decision-making across multiple organizations.

  • Apply consulting skills and data analytics expertise by simplifying technical requirements and trends, based on audience.

  • Present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders using your knowledge of databases, scripting languages, including SQL, R, and Python, and the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes.

  • Apply data visualizations through different formats using commercial-off-the-shelf and custom tools.

  • Grow your communication and technical skills by merging consulting and big data to create data-centric solutions.

You Have: 

  • 1+ years of experience with coding in R or Python in a business setting

  • Experience with ETL and EDA processes to answer questions and solve problems

  • Experience with visualizing data to identify or communicate key insights

  • Knowledge of basic concepts in mathematics and statistics

  • Ability to communicate complex analytical insights to non-technical audience

  • Ability to think critically, analyze, and actively listen to effectively problem solve

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Economics, or Finance

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience with R Shiny, Flask, HTML, and UI and UX centric development

  • Experience with database development and architecture design

  • Experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, or optimization algorithms

  • Experience with data visualization tools, including Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI

  • Experience with supporting the Army or DoD clients

  • Possession of Microsoft Excel skills, particularly in financial modeling

  • Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Business, or another relevant STEM field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
